( ) A gut-wrenching video released by an Anonymous cell known as “KnightSec” appears to show a group of high school students joking and laughing about an instance of alleged rape that reportedly occurred in Steubenville, Ohio in August 2012.

The extremely disturbing 12-minute video was posted online Tuesday by KnightSec and is reportedly being reviewed by the Steubenville Police Department and the Ohio Attorney General’s Office.

Last month, the New York Times published a detailed report on an alleged gang rape in the small Ohio football town of Steubenville. Two Steubenville football players, Trent Mays and Ma’lik Richmond were arrested on Aug. 22 in connection with the alleged rape, Deadspin previously reported. Months later, exactly what happened that night is still unclear. Few witnesses have come forward to discuss what happened to the unknown girl, who alleges she was assaulted and photographed by athletes from Steubenville High.

In the newly released video, a male, identified by a number of media outlets as former Steubenville High School student and baseball player Michael Nodianos, seems to talk about an instance of rape and other disturbing events surrounding the incident.
