The Ohio State Patrol is investigating a crash in the area of Columbia Street and Olney Avenue that sent four people to the hospital Monday afternoon.
24-year-old Christopher Lampkin Jr., of Marion, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt, eastbound on Columbia Street when he failed to yield at a red light and struck a 1994 Toyota Corolla driven by 23-year-old Sharai Lowry, of Marion.
After Lampkin hit Lowry, his car struck a residence, and Lowry’s car came to rest on a sidewalk.
Lampkin had a passenger in his car 24 -year-old Jenny Williams, of Marion and Lowry had a passenger in her car 31-year-old Robert Harden, also of Marion. All four were transported to Marion General Hospital. Debris from the impact struck 18 year old Kenneth Lomax from Marion, Lomax was standing at the southwest corner of the intersection, attempting to cross the street.
Williams, Lowry and Harden were later transferred to Grant Medical Center their condition is unknown. Lampkin was treated and discharged. Lomax left the scene prior to fire and EMS arrival.
The accident is still under investigation.
