COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) --Those who might be interested in becoming Ohio's next governor have some new poll numbers to digest.
A new Quinnipiac University poll of 941 voters gives Gov. John Kasich a 14 point lead over Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald, a possible Democratic challenger.
The poll also finds Kasich with a 47-36 percent lead over another possible Democratic challenger: U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Director Richard Cordray.
Forty-nine percent of those polled say Kasich deserves a second term, while 37 percent believe it's time for a change.
The poll also gives Kasich his highest approval rating ever, 54–34 percent.
The poll, conducted from June 18 – 23 has a margin of error of +/- 3.2 percentage points.
