It's going to be a busy year for one local education official as he steps into dual roles. Officials at the Ohio State University have announced that the Dean and Director of OSU's Marion campus Dr. Gregory Rose, Ph.D. will also serve as interim Dean and Director of the school's Lima campus.
The appointment came Monday, as approved by OSU President Gordon Gee. Rose is taking over for current Lima campus Dean John Snyder, who is stepping down in June after his second term. Rose will start in his new role in July.
According to officials at Ohio State, his appointment is temporary but will give their Board of Trustees ample time to search for a permanent Dean during the 2013 fall semester.
Dr. Gregory Rose has served as Dean and Director at OSU-Marion since 2004, he started out as an assistant geography professor on the Marion campus in 1982. Rose previously earned his bachelors degree from Valparaiso University and his graduates degrees from Michigan State University.
