According to Marion Police, Wednesday night around 7:00 P.M., a woman was in the area of Silver St. and N. Prospect St. holding her one-year old daughter when a man attempted to take the child by force. The man reportedly grabbed the baby and claimed it was his before letting go when the mother threatened to shoot him.

Police say he then fled on foot to the northwest. No arrest was made as no witnesses were around to identify the suspect but he is described as a black male standing 5'10''-6'1'', weighing 250-275 lbs., and wearing dark clothes with a hat.
