Marion County residents now have a new provider for their home delivered meals.

LifeCare Alliance, the leading meals-on-wheels provider in the region, has added Marion County to its service area since the previous provider faced financial difficulties.

The Marion Older Americans Act provides the contract that will continue deliveries of meals on wheels to homebound seniors and the medically challenged. This partnership is made up of LifeCare Alliance, Ohio's District Five Area Agency on Aging, as well as the Marion multi-purpose Senior Center, which will act as the congregate meal site and coordination site of the home delivery program.

LifeCare Alliance is also the meals-on-wheels provider for Franklin and Madison counties and has been around for forty years. This change in provider isn't expected to affect participants in the program at all. Marion County meals-on-wheels are currently delivered five days a week but according to reports, plans a possible expansion in the future.
