The Marion City Fire Dept. is now accepting applications for the firefighter's entrance exam that will take place later this month.

Applications for the exam can be picked up at Marion City Hall's Human Resources Office, 233 W. Center St., or you can download the application packet at www.marionohio.us.

Anyone wishing to take part in the exam must be 18-years old on or prior to Jan. 26, but must be under 31.

The test consists of two parts, a physical and written examination. The department is offering a practice session for the physical agility portion that will be held Saturday Jan. 12 at the Fire Department, located at 186 S. Prospect St.

The actual physical agility test will be conducted Saturday Jan. 19 at 10:00 a.m., also at the Fire Department. A doctor's statement declaring you free of cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases must be turned in before you can take the physical portion of the test.

The written examination will happen Saturday Jan. 26 at 10:00 a.m., at Tri-Rivers Career Center - 2222 Marion-Mt. Gilead Rd. (Rt. 95 East), Marion.

A fee of $20 will be due and applications must be turned in to the Human Resources Office by Wednesday Jan. 9 at 2:00 p.m.
