A Marion man accused of using a sawed-off shotgun in a downtown robbery two months ago has been sentenced to serve 11 years behind bars. Jon Cocherl received the sentence after accepting a plea agreement in the aggravated-robbery case. The prosecution said that Cocherl approached a patron who had left the Wild Bill’s bar on June 10th and, showing his sawed-off shotgun, demanded cash. Police found Cocherl in another bar with the gun protruding from his waistband. Authorities said it appeared that his motive was to obtain some drinking money.
