The Marion post of the State Highway Patrol is investigating a serious injury crash in which a driver had to be extracated from his vehicle. The patrol reports that 65-year-old Michael Tennar of New Bloomington was heading east on State Rt.-95 when he reached the intersection of State Rt.-203. Another driver, 18-year-old Jacob Burns, was heading on 203 when he ran a stop sign and subsequently was struck by Tennar, according to the patrol. Both vehicles continued off the roadway and came to a rest in a field. Tennar was entrapped in his car and had to be extracted by EMS workers. Tennar was taken to Grant Medical Center, where his condition has not been released. Burns was taken to Marion General Hospital and is listed as in stable condition. The crash remains under investigation.
